Seaflo 42 Series

The Seaflo 42 series is a four chamber variable flow bypass demand pump with a flow rate of 3.0 gallons per minute and a cut off pressure of 55 psi.  Being four chambers, it is a much quieter pump than the Seaflo 33 series or the Lippert Flow Max.  Using Variable Flow Technology, the Seaflo 42 series is able to run at smaller flows, such as when brushing teeth or rinsing dishes, without that annoying "on/off/on/off" chattering cycling seen in other pumps.  Additionally, the 42 series is the lowest priced pump in the line up at $59.99 and has a 4 year warranty.  This pump is the clear winner for the pressure water demand pump RV/Marine application.

Seaflo 33 Series

The Seaflo 33 series is an older style three chamber demand pump with a flow rate of 3.5 gallons per minute and a cut off pressure of 45 psi.  The pump is a workhorse continuous duty pump with a 700 hour rated motor.  Not utilizing the variable flow technology, the 33 series is best paired with an external Accumulator Tank, sold separately by Seaflo, to avoid cycling.  With its 4 year warranty and excellent price point, the 33 series is a solid choice for those that don't require the variable flow of the 42 series.

Lippert Flow Max

The Flow Max is an interesting new entry to the RV marketplace in that it is actually manufactured by Seaflo, the manufacturer of the other two pumps.  Upon inspection, it appears to be exactly the same as the Seaflo 33 series pump above.  However, inferior components were selected such as the 200 hour motor giving the Lippert a duty cycle of only 5 minutes on and 10 minutes off.  This can be seen right on the label of the pump above.  This could be a problem for the average RV/Marine use both for every day use and longevity of the pump.  It would seem that showers and usage has to be limited to 5 minutes of usage with a 10 minute rest period.  That could be very inconvenient for the RV shower enthusiast.  Additionally, the Lippert was the loudest pump in the comparison by far.  The 5 minute duty cycle coupled with a mere 2 year warranty, it is hard to see why anyone would want to buy this pump over the two actual Seaflo branded choices available.
